University of the People. For Students and Instructors

I came across this website the other day which has a mission to give higher education to everyone! 

They offer a few different degrees, including a Business stream, computer programming and Health care.  You can get Associate Degrees, Bachelor Degrees or a Master's Degree all on-line from your home or office. https://www.uopeople.edu/

Anyone can apply from where ever they are in the world, and study via video.  The only cost is the admission fee and the exam fees.  

This program is not for everyone though.  In order to get the most out of your studies, you should devote as much time as you would if you were studying at other universities.  Log on to your classes, watch the videos,  do the assignments, read the books and when you finish you can go out there and get a job! 

Now, there is an opportunity for people who want to teach too!  If you have a graduate degree and want to help students get an education, go to  https://instructors.uopeople.edu/Account/SignUp and sign up to become an instructor,  I don't know how much it pays, but it looks like a good job for a retired professor or teacher.

Driverless Cars on the way or a Flop?

This is a Driverless bus.  It had an accident the first day on the job.  Is this the future of Driverless Cars and transport?  Were there people inside?   Who pays for the damage caused by a driverless car?

These are a few of the questions that need to be answered about this new mode of transport.
Actually, it is not a bad idea.  If the traffic is so bad that it is stop and start on the 405 San Diego Freeway, or the 10 Santa Monica Freeway into Downtown Los Angeles, then maybe it would be a good idea to turn over control of the car to the computer.  I don't like to have to pay attention to the driver in front as he or she stops and starts, stops, starts, maybe the compter can do a better job than I can and I will have less stress while I am driving.  Then, maybe I can check my e-mails!

When the traffic opens up, then I would like to take control back from the computer and have more fun while driving.

What do you think?  Do you think that the car companies would be able to do this?

The Israel Tax Authority is on limited strike.

Am I the only one who is angry at the Israel Tax Authority?  I just need two little forms so I can get paid next week when I and my husband do a concert at Beit Tovei HaIr on November 18th at 7:00pm. 

(shameless plug)   But I will probably be playing flute. 

So I go there and wait in line, and when I get to the office that I need to go, they tell me that I don't need to get the form.  I don't think so,  I have always gotten these forms when I need to be paid by a one off.  

So I ask for a way to get on the Internet, she gives me a phone number, but there is no choice to get on the Internet.  No person to speak to.  

If the people there don't want to work, so fire them and get honest workers who really need a job and are willing to work.  I am paid by the hour.  so if I don't work, I don't get paid.  

I'll go to work there.  I can work a computer.  . .
