No confusion this year about changing the clocks back to Winter Time!

Tonight we change the clocks back to Winter Time, that is that if you are up at 2:00 Saturday night, (Oct 27 02:00, then move the clock back to 01:00.  For once, we are in time with Europe.  This makes things easier for Israeli Industry.  In the past there often was a month lag between Israel and Europe, with Israeli changing to be the same time zone as Europe.  This led to confusion when Europe finally did the change.

Actually, this year it was about time for the change, as at 6:00am. last week, it was still night and we had to get up to get the kids ready for school.. As you can understand, the human body doesn't work according to the artificial clock, and the kids were often still groggy from the extra melanin in the system.

I have already changed my clocks right after Shabbat, and also don't forget to change your Shabbat Clock now as well, because with the Shabbat preparations now having to be finished an hour earlier, you might forget and have the lights turn out too soon while you are still eating next week.

Actually, the idea of flipping the clock back and forth is running its course.  Russia, Brazil and a number of other countries don't do it anymore.  Why?  Well most industry runs on the 24/7 and most use electric light all around the clock anyway.  The changing of the hour cuts into human productivity, as in the summer time, people lose an hour sleep in the morning, and that causes more heart attacks and health problems as well as car accidents as groggy people don't pay enough attention to the road.

Classes in schools are affected as well, there been incidents that students come to school at the wrong time, and have to wait in the cold because they are too early and can't get into the building.

In the summer there are many people who take in Shabbat early because of "Summer Time" makes candle lighting too late and they have to start eating at 8:30 or 8:00pm?  Because of this, there are people take Shabbat in early, and there are still others that are still driving and there is that stupid custom of playing loud music to usher in Shabbat.  This comes right in the middle when the Early Shabbaters are praying the Amida!

We don't need "Daylight savings time"  It doesn't save time and it doesn't save daylight.  The convention of the hours is to help us not to hurt us.  Why continue with an outdated concept?  If you say that businesses benefit, so let's see the numbers! Let them have their employees adhere to the changed hours and don't bother the rest of us.  Does it really save money?  I doubt it.
