Dear Friends,
Jerusalem is in a state of shock. Yesterday's
terror attack is a terrible
tragedy, that calls up the years of bus bombings,
terror attacks and the
tragic losses that ensued.
The Jerusalem Marathon is being run this Friday.
It will give all of us a
chance to stand up in pride for the eternal
capital of the Jewish people.
Among the runners will be two very brave
IDF officers from the Armored
Corps: Lt. Ya'akov Selavan and Lt. (res)
Adin Breur. They are running the
1/2 marathon on behalf of Thank Israeli
Soldiers and our Passover package
campaign.
*There are more than 200 soldiers whose
families need help with even the
most basic Passover supplies in order
to have a Seder and holiday.* The
$100 food packages contain Matza, grape juice,
charoset, oil and all the
staples neccesary for the families to have
a kosher Passover week.
Ya'akov and Adin want to give packages to
at least 22 families. Please help
sponsor their run so that each kilometer
raises $100 - one package. (Donations
are tax-deductible in the United States.*)

On April 8th, Ya'akov will be running 22
km in the *Tel Aviv Marathon, this
time with injured soldiers from the 2nd
Lebanon War.* Three injured soldiers
have taken on themselves to cover 50 km
in order to help Thank Israeli
Soldier's Passover campaign. With a total of
72 km, they hope to help 72
more families.
- Vladimir Tokarev (24), running the 10 k,
was injured while serving as a
lone soldier in the Paratroopers. He
recently married and is studying at the
Technion.
- Haran Yaffeh (28), running the 10k,
was one of the most critically
injured soldiers in the war. While the
doctors said he had no chance of
survival, he recovered and now lives in Tel Aviv .
- Asael Lubotzky (26), 30 k hand bike
race, was a Golani officer who was
severely wounded yet, the doctors
were able to save his leg. He now walks
with crutches. Asael is in medical
school and is the father of a baby girl.
