51 Ways to Be Good to Your Joints...

You may have read in the past or  heard of some of these   "51 Ways to be Good to your Joints", written in a article on "Online home of Arthritis Today. "
Here, I would like to remind you about  a few of them.  So, listen up
1. Ditch the High Heels---unless you are a fashion model, chances are  you can live without the high heels. Experts say a three-inch heel stresses your foot seven times more than a one-inch heel.  In addition, heels put extra stress on your knees and lower back...and yes, believe it or not,  your jaw as well.






2. Increase your ROM---- Range of motion exercises, such as stretching are a good way to keep your muscles, joints and ligaments flexible and strong.  I would say that this tip is the most important and almost a guarantee to keep  you out of pain.

3. Develop Strong Abdominals---We all know what strong abdominals can do for our posture, balance and overall health; what you may not know is  that studies show that improving strength and  balance are key to preventing falls and protecting joints from damage.

4. Bulk Up--- Strength training is the best way to boost your metabolism. 5. Brace Yourself--- Elbow wrist, knee and other joint braces not only prevent injury but also reduce the load on the joints.  I may recommend a brace to a patient in order for them to move more without fear of injury.  So, the joint is protected while you are more active on or off the job.
