Siren heard in many places in Israel

By Rachael Alice Orbach -  Jerusalem

This evening we heard many sirens go off in different places in Israel. For security issues, I'm not going to tell you exactly where, you can private message me, if you want more details.  I can tell you that they missed Jerusalem, even though the Code Red siren went off in the capital.

This situation has got to stop! The Government of Gaza, which is in alliance with the Palestinian Authority, is now shooting expensive rockets into to Israel in different places.  This is really a war. Israel should officially declare war.

The situation started with the kidnapping and murder of three boys, aged 16 to 19. There was even a rocket fired during the funeral for Heavens sake!

There have been over 100 rockets shot at the south of the country, and now 30 in other areas.  The UN will only condemn Israel, and will be silent about Hamas.  As an aside, the word Hamas in Hebrew mean violence.  Yup, just about covers it.  How do these poor, financially crippled Hamasians get so much money?  Rockets are expensive.  Shouldn't this money be spent on schools, building a decent hospital, tourist sites? Food?  No, they don't want to develop the society, just destroy.

Why is the month of Ramadan so violent?  In other religions, if there is a fast, the time fasting is used for introspection, prayer, becoming better people.  Instead, they use the month to become much more violent.  There is no reason for this type of behavior.

We as Jews shouldn't worry about world opinion. We have to defend ourselves, and if it means to flush out the violence that is in Gaza, so be it.  The UN never pays attention to the provocation that Israel takes, but only to the retaliation. Israel has to be strong and stand up for itself, because in the long run, no one else is going to help us.
