Just in from the Ministry of Education! No School tomorrow!

No School tomorrow in Jerusalem and Mevessert Zion.  This is because of the amount of snow and ice still on the roads.  I guess that people in Northern Europe, like in Poland, and Russia must be laughing at us.

The kids in my house were jumping up and down, they can now plan to go outside in their waterproof boots (not!) and play with the snow for another day.  Here is a snowman in our neighborhood.
Jerusalem is not equipped for the snowy weather.  Instead of using snow plows to clear the streets, the municipality brings out the construction workers who come with their tractors and pick up the snow and put it on the side of the street.  We saw this as they laboriously cleared the Main Jerusalem Tel Aviv highway last night.  They had to close off the highway as the tractors did their work.

I wish everyone a safe after Snow Day and don't drive if you don't have chains or snow tires on your car.  Now, with everything melting, it is dangerous even now.
