Brit Mila is one of the Mitzvot of the Torah that is a "Chok,"\that is that we observe them just because it is a Mitzva from Hashem. Brit Mila is one of the defining characteristics of the Jewish people. The baby has to have lived a Shabbat, as well as a whole week, and then on the day of infinity,the 8th day, he enters into the eternal covenant of Hashem. Jews throughout the ages have died rather than forgo this mitzvah. My husband learned how to be a mohel in order to fulfill the commandment of Brit Mila himself. He was the Mohel of all our three sons, We are very proud of our sons that they are following in the footsteps of the tradition. They have a good foundation because their father observed the commandment literally. May the People of Israel continue to be strong and follow the Mitzvot of Hashem with the same devotion as we have done in the past.
