Happy Shavuot! Dvar Torah and short story by Rachael Orbach

Tonight is Shavout, the Holiday of the continual Giving of the Torah!.

Shavout is directly connected with Passover. If  on Passover we are to see ourselves
as if we are leaving Egypt, so on Shavuot, we are are receiving the Torah.  It is said
that at the Red Sea even the most insignificant maid servant saw more than Isaiah the Prophet,
so the same goes for Matan Torah, the giving of the Torah.

I asked myself what did it feel like, at Matan Torah?  What was it like?  What was the weather?
How did people deal with this event?

So in my humble way, Hashem sent me a story which I would like to share with you.

As with all stories, it is fiction, but if you happen to find yourself inside, then the author
has done a good job.
