New natural hair color from Schwartzkof

Since I work mostly with Schwartzkof I am happy to see a new line of hair color that doesn't have Ammonia.  The developer is also very special and has less hydrogen peroxide.  This means that it damages the hair much less. Pictured here is a golden brown. You need to mix two shades one a base the number 5 and then the color accent 5.5 this is when you want to cover grey or white roots.
I come to you to do hair color and I have a portable sink that makes it much easier to wash out.
I mostly use Schwartzkof professional products for the best results. Send me a picture of your hair and I will get the perfect hair color for you.

Kibbutzim now to open up to tourism by Rachael Alice Orbach

Israeli farms will open up to tourists to come and see how the food is produced as well as partake of the produce.

This is a joint project with the EU and Israel Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Develoopment.  This type of exeperience is now offered in Tuscany in Italy and Bavaria in Germany.  It is sorely needed here in Israel.  This will help the kibbutzim show tourists a different side to the country, as a living vibrant country.  Most people don't know that  a lot of the produce that is produced in Israel is consumed locally,  Siince there are not long travel times, the procduce arrives at the market fresher and tastes better.  It is about time that tourists will be able to take advantage of this situation as well.

Most people think of Israel as a war-torn country, but this type of tourism will show them that Israel is green and produces a lot of food for local consumption as well as for export.  On the kibbutz, the tourists could eat at the Kibbutz dining room for a fee and taste first hand how Israelis live.

Twinning projects are becoming more popular, this one being the 6th project so far with the EU. It will run for 18 months and has a budget of 820,000 Euros.

Head of Delegation Andrew Standley noted that, "Israeli farmers, like European ones, are looking for new on-farm income generating projects, such as diversification of products and services related to agriculture, including tourism" and that "the twinning project will support the ministry in responding to the needs of farmers".

We hope that this project is successful!

Spice rack for the summer - Life on a Shoestring

Now that summer is here, the bugs are too!  Eventhough I live on the 7th floor, I still can find bugs in my apartment.

One of the places that bugs love the best is the spice rack!  And most people don't even think about it. Many times I use a spice and I forget to close it all the way and then the next time, I find a bug.  This happens mostly with Zatar, but a bug could be hiding in the Sweet Basil or the Organo.

So, I have a new method to keep the bugs out.  I threw away all the old spices, especially the ones that don't close at all.  I went and bought big containers of the spices.  so that they will fit in the door of my . . . . Freezer!
Yes, it cost a bit much for each bottle, but now they fit nicely in the freezer door and they don't fall out.  Next time I need a new spice, I will buy the plastic envelope and fill up the bottle.  I keep them in the same order all the time and it is very convient to find and I now know that there are no bugs in my spices.  Not exactly shoestring, but this saves a lot of time to check each spice for bugs.

Give it a try?

Tuvia Finds his Freedom Book review

Turtles and tortises are one of my favorite kind of animals.
They are very  hardy and have the special shell that protects them.  I just had the good fortune to find a children’s book about Tuvia,
who is either a tortise or a turtle.
You will have to read the book to find out.

This is a heartwarming story about Tuvia and the family he adopts.
It is  illustrated with real photographs that bring the story to life.

Where did Tuvia come from?  Should he stay?
Where is the best place forTuvia?

These are the questions that face the family.

Children really love the photographs that show Tuvia
when he is sad and later happy.

Your children will enjoy this book being read to them, and later on
 they will
read it themselves.

This book is available from Chesed Ve’Emet, an organization
which is devoted to acts of kindness and teaching Torah.

The book is available from Chesed VeEmet,

Business opportunity in Jerusalem

I walk by this machine almost everyday.  Yes it is beat up a bit, and the it has bars on it, but it works and I have even seen people buy cans of soda from it.  So when I saw this sign on it I started thinking. . . . But I do a lot of things, and you have to be available right away if there is a problem with the machine and get it working fast!  I wouldn't be able to do that.  But maybe you could?  In the past, when I was looking for a business opportunity, I priced these machines and the going price is 16,000 NIS. At 9000 NIS, in a location where the population is growing is a good deal.

Go for it!
