The Art of Forgiveness

The Art of Forgiveness is taken right out of the Tanach.  When we forgive someone, we are acting in the same way the Hashem acts toward us.  If someone sins, and if the person does real repentance, and doesn't do the sin again, and is truly sincere, then Hashem forgives that person immediately.

This is what mean that Hashem is forgiving.  Forgiveness gives you the chance to start a relationship over.  We forgive,  we might not forget, but we think of the situation as a learning process for each person.

In the Tanach, King David asked forgiveness of the Gibionites for what King Saul did to them.  The Gibionits did not forgive King David, so he made a condition that if someone from that nation wanted to convert, they would not be allowed to.

Why?  Because the Jewish People always forgive when someone does wrong to them.  They have mercy on others and do not exact punishment.  We let Hashem deal with the sins, and we concentrate on forgiving.  We do not hold grudges.

Exercise for the week.

Start with people in your family.  Forgive someone in your family 100% for a wrong that was committed against you.  Be sincere.  Really forgive that person.  You don't even have to tell that person that you are forgiving them.  Just do it for yourself.

Observe how that person acts toward you.  Notice the good things that the person does.
Speak only positively to that person.  Leave the negativity at the door.  Leave it outside.  Make your home environment pleasant.  If listening to the morning news brings you down, so don't listen to the morning news.

Have a empowering day

You don't have to lose business during the Summer!

Many businesses especially those which deal with personal beauty don't do as much business during the summer as they do during the year.

There are various reasons for this.  The kids are out of school, so parents don't have time to go shopping for impulse items.  Parents are working less because someone has to be home to take care of the children, so there is less income to spend.  Parents also have less time to go to the hair salon for example.

So how is a business to weather the hot summer?

One way is to sponsor an event, and advertise to the people at the event.  Tu B'Av is much earlier this year, on July 22nd.  You could sponsor a music event, providing the advertising, on the Internet, or in the Jerusalem Post, Ha'artz events sections, (which are free), putting your sponsorship of the event along with the time and place.

Another way to boost summer sales is to advertise in the mediums that your customers generally use.   You can find this out by asking them where they found out about you, or put a poll on your blog or website.  Use this information in the future to target your best customers,

Write a newsletter, put in fun, informative items, that will bring your customers back and generate new ones.  Start a blog about your business and make sure that you post at least twice a month!

I am going to take my own advice!  See you on the other side!

Night view of Northern Jerusalem in 3D!

Last night I couldn't sleep so, I caught this view from my favorite place, my living room window.  We live on the 7th floor so it is easy to get stunning views.  I have posted this before, but now since I have discovered 3D photography, I decided to try it with this new website.  The only problem is that it is very expensive to print the photos.  No worry, I'll find a way around that too, so anyway, enjoy this picture!

After taking this picture, I was able to sleep!

Maybe I'll take some pictures in your area of Jerusalem too!
